don't expect you to use a front
ShockWave™
for that application either!
The ShockWave™ 9000
and the ShockWave™ 7000
are designed especially for
the rear suspension of your
hotrod. The Firestone® sleeve
style airspring offers more
travel and a softer spring rate
that is more appropriate for
a solid axle rear suspension.
The 12 position shock valving
will allow you to dial in the
exact level of ride quality
and handling performance you
want for your car. |

What's
the difference between
the ShockWave™ 9000
and the ShockWave™
7000?
It's
simple...diameter
and load capacity.
The smaller 7000
series is 4"
in diameter and
has a load capacity
of 780 lbs.@ 100
psi. It is recommended
for vehicles weighing
1500 lbs. or less
on the rear axle,
or as a supplement
to a leafspring
suspension. The
5" diameter
9000 series has
a load capacity
of 1200 lbs. @ 100
psi. It is recommended
for heavier vehicles
weighing 1500-2400
lbs. on the rear
axle.
What
length ShockWave™
should I use?
In general, the
longer the better.
A longer ShockWave™
will give you more
suspension travel.
More suspension
travel will allow
a better ride quality
because the vehicle
has more distance
to absorb road irregularities.
The heavier the
vehicle, the more
important this becomes. |

Many
of our street rod customers
want a comfortable riding air
suspension just for the rear
of their ride. The front may
ride fine as is, or it may be
a traditional straight axle
and not be appropriate for an
air suspension. We now offer
the packages below to accommodate
these situations. The 7000 series
packages work best on vehicles
that weigh 1600 lbs. or less
on the rear axle (T buckets,
Model A's, 33-34 roadsters and
coupes, most early pick-ups).
The 9000 series packages work
best on heavier later model
vehicles. |
